The beginning of August is an usual date of Rally Rzeszow. This year, rally cars will take over the capital of Podkarpackie Region on 8-10 August. Great sports emotions given by top Polish drivers and international guests will await the enthusiasts of rallies.
Rally Rzeszow, right after Rally Poland, which is round of European Rally Championship (FIA ERC), is the second largest rally event in our country, gathering the best Polish rally drivers and many successful competitors from abroad every year. This year's edition is round of FIA European Rally Trophy (FIA ERT), FIA Central European Zone Rally Championship (FIA CEZ) and Polish Rally Championship (RSMP). It is a competition both for modern rally cars and rally cars from years ago as well.
Polish Rally Championship has exceeded the halfway point. Four of seven this year's rounds have already passed. After two gravel rallies, the competitors will return to the asphalt and fight for double points due to the longer than usual route.
The rivalry, divided into two legs, will take place on eleven special stages, with a total length of over 177 kilometres. On demanding, but already well-known roads, water splashes, steep climbs and breakneck falls won’t be missing.
Apart from the familiar special stages of Lubenia, Pstrągowa, Zagorzyce and Wysoka there will be some novelties such as SS Wojaszówka in Krosno district and Saturday SSS on streets in the center of Rzeszów, on which ERC drivers were competing two years ago, but at a different time of the day and in a completely new version. It will resemble the famous Criterium of Aces Karowa in Warsaw, because at the same time on SS there will be only one team. Spectators have to prepare for spectacular slides and ‘dounuts’. This year’s Shakedown will take place in Babica.
The ceremonial start of the rally will take place on Thursday evening (8th August), in Millenium Hall shopping centre event square in Rzeszów, and the ceremonial finish will end the rally on Saturday (10th August) on a picturesque Rzeszów market square. Winner of the rally will open the champagne around 15:30. During the rally, teams and cars will be able to find in the Service Park, which will be located in the center of Rzeszów, in the parking lot at the Podpromie sports hall.
